1948 Davis – The Davis, shaped much like a high-top gym shoe, was touted for its "jet fighter" qualities by the Davis Motor Car Company. The streamlined three-wheel car features an aerodynamic shape, tight turning radius and "aircraft" shock absorbers. The Davis is powered by an economical 65-horsepower engine, which the company claimed would get 35 miles per gallon. The seaweed-green car is one of only 17 of the quirky aluminum-bodied cars ever produced. The company folded due to financial scandal; not unlike another innovative car from the same era - the Tucker.
