1938 Amilcar B-38 Roadster Finished in forest green with beautiful dark green leather. M. Yves Roche of Paris bought this roadster in 1938 and owned it until 1978. It is reputed that only 7 of these roadsters were produced. The motor is a 4 cylinder three main bearing side valve with 1184 CC with a single Zenith updraft carburetor. The body and chassis are of aluminum - alloy construction; it is one of the first designs to follow the modular design formula. It was an advanced car having four wheel independent suspension, front wheel drive, and a 4 speed gearbox. This automobile is a joy to drive. Top speed is about 65 MPG with the car tracking in a straight line at all highway speeds. The front wheel drive joints have been rebuilt and the mechanical condition is superb. The new black canvass convertible top totally hides away behind the front seats. Part of the world reknown Becker Collection in Chicago. A remarkable, manageable classic car of importance and rarity.
